5.3.2 Grouping Parameters (Channel Rules)

5.7.1 Grouping Parameters (Channel Rules)

Overview: When a product’s process includes the Grouping production step, you can set the grouping parameters for that product. Grouping parameters decide which cells may be grouped together, based on their IR (internal resistance), voltage and capacity.

Purpose: Create individual grouping rules for each channel, so that only cells within the defined IR, voltage and capacity ranges are grouped together.

Procedure

1.      While creating (or editing) a product, add the Grouping production step.

2.      Under Channel Rules, enter the Channel No.

3.      Under Limits, select none, one or more of IR, Voltage and Capacity.

4.      For IR and Voltage, enter the Min, Max and Unit values.

5.      For Capacity, enter a Grade (for example, A) and its Min, Max and Unit. Click + Add Grade to add more grades.

6.      Click + Add Channel Rule to create a rule for the next channel, and repeat steps 2–5.

7.      Save the product to apply the grouping parameters.

Field

Description

Production Step :

Select Grouping to configure grouping parameters for the product.

Channel No :

The grouping channel the rule applies to. Add one rule per channel.

Limits :

Select none, one or more of IR, Voltage and Capacity. Only the selected limits are checked for that channel.

IR (Min / Max / Unit) :

Allowed internal-resistance range for cells on the channel.

Voltage (Min / Max / Unit) :

Allowed voltage range for cells on the channel.

Capacity grades :

One or more grades (e.g. A, B), each with its own Min / Max / Unit capacity range. Each grade is a separate range.

+ Add Grade / + Add Channel Rule :

Add another capacity grade to the channel, or add a rule for another channel. Use × to remove a grade or rule.

NOTE Each capacity grade is a separate range – cells from different grades are never grouped together. If no limit is selected for a channel, no IR, voltage or capacity check is applied on that channel.
